Have you ever wondered which really is the quickest way to lose weight, when almost every other month there is a new drug or natural remedy that touts that it slashes weight fast?
You could categorize the thousands of substances, products and techniques into 6 simple areas:
a) starvation or something bordering on it or some diet program with rules as thick as a car manual.
b) hours-long exercise that will leave sweat puddles
c) popping some anti-obesity pills
d) liposuction
e) stomach slashing surgery
f) drinking gallons of coffee daily
Liposuction
If you allow me to be facetious, then the fast track technique to lose weight is liposuction. In the 2 hours that the procedure takes, you would have lost about 10 pounds. No other method can make your fat disappear that fast. Unfortunately the side effect of lipo is that the fat removed may return in the same area and stack up more than before.
Starvation
Diets that propose starvation or food deprivation will not work in the long term. It's garbage reasoning to think that starvation or fasting is the quickest way to lose weight. This is what happens when you fast often. Your body has an inbuilt mechanism that will cause your metabolism to slow down when you don't eat (fast). When this happens, food that you eat is stored away like a bear about to hibernate. So your body will store fat and start burning proteins. That's why people who fast as a way of losing weight lose weight fast and then their weight remains flat and after a few months, it starts building up again.
Weight loss pills
Okay what about popping weight loss pills? How effective are they? Most of these are prescription drugs and some are OTC. None of these weight loss pills work long-term. In the first few weeks, you would see a sharp drop in your weight and after a few months, your weight will crawl up again.
Lots of Exercise
Look, let's get one thing straight, you can't exercise your calories away. If you consume even 1000 calories a day, there isn't a single exercise routine in the world that will make you burn that off, even if you jog and swim and cycle and step stairs the whole afternoon.
Stomach reducing surgery
The people that would find this technique helpful are those with uncontrollable weight that doesn't reduce whatever you do. The downside is that close to half the patients have nasty.
Drinking jugs of coffee
Drinking coffee will do the trick but on its own you won't see even a 10 lb drop. But the problem is that you could be having sleepless nights with too much coffee.
